League options
Open until the auction starts, Oct 17.
5, the standard game
5 seats: 6 films each, 3 races each, fade at 60%. Change the seat count and the three below follow; edit any of them if you want something else. Eight is the most — above that, start a second league; results are shared.
Auction, $300, six films, three races, 60% fade
The standard game, unless you change it.Six films and $300 is what the rulebook and the fair-value ranges assume. Change both together or neither.60% at five seats keeps the fade worth about the same as it is for a five-player league at any size (100% at three, 40% at eight).
The auction is the game: everyone gets a budget and bids on a call. The snake draft is the fallback when your group can't get on a call: everyone picks in turns here, on a clock, no budget.
Board Sat Oct 10, auction penciled in for Sat Oct 17, fades Sun Oct 18
In league time.
Players see it the moment you publish; this is the date they're told.
Before the Gotham nominations (Tue Oct 27) and every list counts.
Settled with the groupUntil it is, your players see this night as penciled in. Picking a new night ticks it.
Shown on the auction page at start time. Optional.
The day after the auction at 9pm, unless you change it.
Blank is the season's: the Golden Globe nominations, Mon Dec 7, 5am. The race draft opens the next morning, Tue Dec 8, 9am: move the freeze to move it. Yours can be as late as Fri Dec 25.
Calls on, fade on, no January round
Release-week callsGuess the opening weekend and Metacritic of each week’s contender; closest wins 3 each. Most of the fun between events.
The fadeThe day after the auction, each player secretly bets against one rival's film: they bank a share of what it cost, and every point it scores comes off. Pending until the December freeze, then it counts.
January free-agent roundOne more race each from what’s unheld after the Oscar nominations. Off unless you want it.
Second pair of eyes on the freezeA second admin confirms the Globe list before it freezes the board. Off unless you want it.
Show last season’s demo leagueEveryone can open a finished season to see how the game plays. On by default.
